Who built this

FastestDL was built and is maintained by Jesse Mola. It's a collection of free browser-based tools for working with files — no account required, no watermarks, and most tools run entirely in your browser without uploading your files to a server.

Why it exists

Most online file tools are slow, paywalled, or require creating an account just to compress a video or convert an image. FastestDL was built to fill that gap — fast, capable tools that work without any of that friction.

The tools are built on real processing infrastructure: ffmpeg for video and audio, Pillow for images, rembg for background removal, and browser-side processing for everything that doesn't need a server. The blog documents what was learned building and running these tools — codec comparisons, compression benchmarks, and dataset preparation guides based on real production data.
